Ways To Manage Your Mane – Monsoons Special

Monday, June 28th, 2010

After the long hot summers monsoon rains bring with it a big sigh of relief. Most of us enjoy getting wet in the rain. However, your moment of joy can soon turn out into frustration if your hair becomes messy. Hair loss is a common issue during monsoons with problems like painful pus filled boils caused due to bacterial infections; lice infestation and dandruff. Constantly drenched hair causes high level of humidity that encourages the growth of fungi and bacteria on the scalp. If the above mentioned points are worrying you, the following tips might be useful.

Keep your hair dry:  During the monsoons excessive moisture is the biggest foe to your hair. It can make your hair thin and fall flat. To avoid this, you can use non sticky hair spray that keeps your tresses dry. Avoid using it more than four times a day otherwise excess of the product can make your hair sticky later on in the day. Follow a normal routine of shampooing, conditioning and hairspray.

Use accessories: The right accessory can make you look stylish as well as protect your hair. You can use a colorful scarf to cover your hair and the fizzy ends. You can also use a hairband if your hair is short or simply wear a hat that compliments your attire.

Do not brush wet hair: Wet hair tends to break easily so it is advised that you dry it with a towel and run a wide toothed comb gently though your hair.

Different Hairbrushes Style Your Hair Differently

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Combing or brushing your hair is as important as washing and conditioning your hair. It is therefore important as to which hairbrush you choose to comb your hair. Selecting the right kind of brush is very essential for the type of hair you have. These are a few of them:

Cushion Hair Brush – These are generally meant for those who have long or medium-length hair. These brushes can be used on a daily basis. They massage your scalp and help to increase blood circulation within the scalp.

Paddle Hair Brush – These brushes work wonders on medium-length or long hair. They help to straighten the hair, allowing it to remain flat.

Vent Hair Brush – There is a hole in the middle of the base of these brushes which lets air pass through the brush. This in turn helps for a faster blow drying of the hair. These brushes help to detangle your hair and also gives it volume.

Round Hair Brush – These are the most stylish of all brushes. They give lovely curls to your hair. If you have short hair, it is recommended that you use a small brush to define curls in sections of your hair. But if your hair is long, then you should go for a longer round hair brush to curl the ends of your hair.

Beautiful Hair That Turns Heads

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Stylish and beautiful hair changes your personality. How does it feel when people praise you for your lustrous hair? Everyone is not lucky to be born with beautiful hair. If you are a lucky one, or even if you are not, there are several methods for you to maintain your hair. Just as skin needs regular washing and cleaning to keep it smooth and supple, hair also needs care to be able to keep up its luster for a long time.

Shampoos are used to clean the scalp and thereby keep the hair dust-free. Proper shampooing is a necessity if you wish to have beautiful hair. It is recommended that you must shampoo at least thrice a week if you are outdoors very often.

The next important step to remember is to condition your hair. Shampoos normally take away the sheen from your hair, making it fizzy and unmanageable. Proper conditioning is required if you wish to keep up that shine of your hair. Conditioning is generally done after your hair has been washed with a good shampoo.

The last thing you should do is to let your hair air-dry. Using a dryer to dry your hair could damage your hair immensely. Soak all water from your hair with a towel and let it dry in the air. Your hair is sure to turn heads.
